Walt Disney World has released Food Studio booth menus for the 2022 Epcot International Festival of the Arts, our favorite event of the year in the park! This post previews new & returning savory snacks and decadent desserts, along with a look at the new Figment popcorn bucket (!!!) that’ll debut during the event.
This year, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts at Walt Disney World runs from January 14 through February 21, 2022. The Food Studios are all located throughout the World Showcase pavilions and portions of the new neighborhoods of Future World, just like the Holiday Kitchens and Global Marketplaces before them. These food booths open each day from park opening until park closing.
For the most part, the 2022 Epcot International Festival of the Arts recycles booths used by the Christmas-time event, with a smaller slate than the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, the park’s “flagship” culinary event. (If you ask me, the food is better at Festival of the Arts–probably because there’s less demand, allowing for more attention to detail.) These 15 Food Studios showcase the best in culinary art, blending colorful ingredients, unique cooking techniques, and imaginative presentations to create edible masterpieces…
As you’ll see below, Walt Disney World’s culinary and beverage teams created some new foods for 2022 Epcot International Festival of the Arts, and also brought back numerous fan favorites. Highlights include the brand-new the Craftsman’s Courtyard.
Returning is the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine, a fun food stroll highlighting five sweet and savory offerings at the festival. Upon purchase of each, you’ll receive a stamp for your Festival Passport. As you travel throughout the Festival, collect stamps by purchasing five of these decadent dishes to redeem a special prize from Deco Delights to enjoy.
While a lot of this food looks absolutely fantastic, the unequivocal highlight from my perspective is the Figment popcorn bucket. As longtime readers know, I am a huge Figment fan (see above), so this excitement should not come as a surprise.
Probably less known is that I have strong feelings about popcorn buckets–and not positive ones. Let’s just say I do not “get” the appeal, and leave it at that. I’ve never bought a popcorn bucket at Walt Disney World, and previously never felt even a remote urge to do so. The latter part of that statement is no longer true.
I’m yet not sure how these two clashing feelings will resolve themselves. I love most things Figment and that popcorn bucket is adorable…but also impractical. (My main criteria for merchandise purchases these days is “will I use this outside the parks?” This results in the purchase of coffee mugs, but not much else.)
I also will not wait in any line whatsoever for merchandise, which might be the deciding factor here. If lines for the Orange Bird sipper released a couple years ago were any indication, the Pop Eats! Food Studio is going to have the longest wait time at Walt Disney World from January 14 through February 21, 2022. It’ll probably surpass Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which will have a standby line by then.
